Camps

Fiddleheads Acoustic Music Camp - September

Fiddleheads Acoustic Music Camp is for musicians of all levels and ages and offers a weekend of instruction, fun, and community for individuals that play instruments such as fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, hammer dulcimer, viola, cello, piano and other acoustic instruments. Coaches in 2009 included Seth Austen,Susie Burke, Ellen Carlson, Kathy Sommer (Zimpfer), David Surrette, Ryan Thomson, Beverly Woods and DARYL ANGER, exceptional fiddler, composer, producer and educator.

A highlight of the weekend is the band class. Students form bands of various styles. For example: Irish, Old Timey, Blues, Bluegrass, or Jazz. They then select tunes to play and develop their "act" with the help of an instructor. On Saturday night a concert is performed with everyone having a grand time. The performance is sometimes followed by a dance and definitely some jamming into the night.
